The Logues

‘The Logues’ have been called "The most progressive folk band in Ireland" by AMA Music Agency. From their humble beginnings in Castlederg, County Tyrone they have become one of Ireland’s most sought after live bands. Building on the success of their self-released debut album ‘Tough At The Bottom’ (2011), the band entered Attica recording studio in Donegal in June 2014 to begin recording their next album, from which their single ‘Fly Free’ resulted. The dark, melodic love song received high critical acclaim and extensive radio airplay throughout Ireland and the UK, with Ocean FM calling it 'one of the singles of the year’ and tipping ‘The Logue’s as one of the bands to watch in 2015.

After playing in Dubai in 2015 there was a loud call from the ex-pats of Ireland, as well as the locals, to come back and headline the St. Patricks’ Day festival in 2016. Made up of members Kiel Cathers, Logan McCool, Christopher 'Beers' Speer, Jesse Darragh and Darrell Nelson, they certainly gave audience members a show to remember.

Their new single ‘All I Want Is You’ released in February this year was originally written by Barry Louis Polisar and then featured during the opening credits of hit movie ‘Juno’. It is a well known upbeat track, and with ‘The Logues’ mix of folk and punk they have definably put their own stamp on the toe tapping tune. To celebrate ten years together the band recorded a new album which was launched in April in Mid Ulster’s newest live music venue, Lanyon Hall.

Powered by passion and driven by dedication, ‘The Logues’ are one band to watch out for.

We are delighted to welcome them for their debut performance at the festival.
