Paddyrasta

Paddyrasta have discovered a new musical genre! A fusion of irresistible reggae rhythms, traditional melodies and socially conscious lyrics, this multi-cultural band combine to produce a unique sound that makes you just want to get up and dance - simply unmissable!
Paddyrasta are the highly original celtic/reggae band who bring a fresh, new sound that has been described as "Pogues meets Bob Marley". Their line up includes banjo, button accordion, tin whistles, bass, drums and vocals. A wonderfully funky-folky ethno-eco band. Afro-Irish reggae-rap with conscience. They formed late in 2004 in Aberdeen fronted by Northern Irish songwritter Brian Gilligan and played their first gig as support to the legendary Jamacian band the Skatalites, since then they have gone on to win the Battle of the Bands and record their debut album "listen to your heart" which has received alot of airplay both in the UK and in the USA. The have played live on the BBC and have been booked for the world Ceilidh festival at knockengorroch and Glasgow green May Daze festival heading the bill with Chas and Dave.
